New Accounts

To establish a new account, customers are required to fill out a new account application.  A deposit of $170.00 is required for each account that is retained by the City and applied to the final bill + a $10.00 Connect Fee.

Bills are due by close of business on the due date as indicated on the statement to avoid a delinquent fee.

Repairs - Turning Water Off

If you need your water turned off/on for repairs there will be a fee of $10.00 up until 4:30 pm, after 4:30 pm is a fee of $25.00.

Emergency - Turning Water Off

In case of emergency for repairs to have water turned off/on after 5:00 pm call the Police Department at 254-559-2211 and they will contact the on call employee.

*** Meter Tampering / Theft of Services ***

In an effort to deter losses in water revenue, service calls and meter repair, any detected water meter tampering will be reported to the police, investigated, and charges filed.  Tampering with a water meter is a Class A misdemeanor in Texas and punishable by a fine not to exceed $4000, confinement in jail for a term not to exceed 1 year, or both. Individuals responsible for tampering may also incur civil liability and additional fees.  Anyone who reconnects water service in any way after the city has disconnected the water for nonpayment of delinquent bill. In addition to the amount of the delinquent bill, the reconnect fee, meter tampering fee and any damages shall be paid before water service will be reconnected. Any tampering with meter will result in meter removal and a tampering fee of $100. Any account charged with tampering fee is required an additional $300 deposit.

Trash Service

The City contracts with Republic Services for trash services. One Poly Cart will be delivered with all new accounts.  Additional Poly Carts are available at ½ the base rate. A maximum of 3 Poly Carts per residence. Monday is Poly Cart Delivery Day. If you require a larger dumpster you may contact the Water Office at 254-559-7249.

01-2019 CHANGES TO RESIDENTIAL TRASH PICK-UP

Starting January 2019, Republic Services will change residential trash pick-up routes.

Monday’s route (red) will be north of Walker St. from the east side of N. Parks St. to the west side of Front St.

Tuesday’s route (gold) will be south of Walker St. from the east side of S. Parks St. to the west side of south Butte St.

Wednesday’s route (yellow) will be north of Walker St. from the east side of Front St. to the west side of N. Jackson St. and south of Walker St. from east side of Butte St. to west side of Melrose St.

Thursday’s route (green) will be north of Walker St. from the west side of N. Parks St. to Sendero Dr.

Friday’s route (blue) north and south of Walker St. from the west of Sendero Dr. to FM 3099. Also, South of Walker St. from west side of S. Parks St. to the west side of Sunset Blvd.

Republic Services would like to remind people that if you have multiple poly carts please allow 5-6 feet between the carts and away from mail boxes, gas meters and other vehicles.

NO construction materials in poly carts, example:  lumber, sheetrock, paneling, shingles, etc.

1-2019 CHANGES TO BULK PICK UP

Beginning January 2019, Republic Services will be changing bulk pick up for the City of Breckenridge from quarterly to monthly.

Pick up dates for the whole city will be scheduled:  MUST CALL City Offices at 254-559-8287 to be put on the BULK LIST the Friday before the pick-up date.

Republic Services will pick up three bulk items per residential unit (Apartments are considered commercial units).

Place items at least three feet away from poly carts.  A special collection vehicle will collect bulk items and bagged or bundled yard waste.  All items must be at curbside the day before collection.  The driver will only collect once per residential unit.  The bulk pickup scheduled days for 2021 are: January 21st, February 18th, March 18th, April 15th, May 20th, June 17th, July 15th, August 19th, September 16th, October 21st, November 18th, and December 16th.

Bulky Waste - stoves, refrigerators (CF's MUST be removed and tagged), water tanks, washing machines, furniture, bundled trees, shrubs, or brush trimmings and any other waste materials must be bundled, securely tied together forming an easily handled package not exceeding three feet in length and 50 lbs in weight.  Items not included in bulk pick-up - construction debris, dead animals, hazardous waste, stable matter, chemicals, paints, thinners, tires, batteries, oil & oil filters, antifreeze, drums, asbestos, untreated medical wastes, contaminated soils, sludge, liquids, and automobile/truck engine parts.

In order for large appliances and lawn equipment to be picked up, ALL LIQUIDS MUST BE REMOVED including gasoline, motor oil and hydraulic fluid. Any appliance that contain or have contained Freon or CFC’s, must have the compressor and lines removed, plus tagged by a technician to be accepted. Doors must be removed from refrigerators and freezers.

Brush Chipping

Brush chipping service may be requested anytime throughout the year by a citizen within the City Limits of Breckenridge.  Request service in person at the Water Department, 105 N. Rose Avenue.

  1. Complete a Service Request form
  2. Brush must be located at curbside
  3. No brush larger than 8” in diameter
  4. No Brush longer than 6’ long
  5. Butt ends placed toward the street or curb
  6. No uprooted trees with roots attached
  7. No dirt encrusted brush
  8. Needs to be stacked neatly

An employee will come out and assess the brush and you will be contacted by the Water Department with the cost of the brush chipping.  Brush will be picked up within 7 working days once payment has been received.

Brush Chipping is provided twice a year to a customer at no charge – Spring and Fall
